Elden Ring
Elden Ring can be played in singleplayer mode on CloudDeck, the game's official online multiplayer does not work.
Reason
The game uses Easy Anti-Cheat, which prevents the game from launching in virtual environments like CloudDeck. To play the singleplayer campaign, you need to apply a workaround that launches the game without the anti-cheat. This disables the official online multiplayer (cooperation, invasions and messages).
Workaround
The game normally starts through start_protected_game.exe, which loads Easy Anti-Cheat. By replacing this file with a copy of the main game executable, the game launches directly in offline mode and becomes playable.
- Switch to Desktop mode if you are not already in it (Steam menu -> Power -> Switch to Desktop)
- Open Steam, right-click Elden Ring in your library and select Manage -> Browse local files
- In the file manager that opens, enter the Game folder
- Rename
start_protected_game.exetostart_protected_game.exe.bak(this keeps a backup so you can restore online play later) - Copy
eldenring.exeand rename the copy tostart_protected_game.exe - Launch the game from Steam as usual. It will start in offline mode without the anti-cheat
To restore the original online multiplayer, delete the start_protected_game.exe you created and rename start_protected_game.exe.bak back to start_protected_game.exe.
